Operational Programme Human Resources

The out-of-school education programme Open Future is a pilot project aimed at acquiring and developing the skills needed by primary school pupils for the 21st century, to develop their potential in order to increase their chances of better employment. Each year, around 25 young people aged 11-15 are given the opportunity to take part in a comprehensive three-year learning programme at an after-school club. With the help of mentors from different spheres, participants will work on their own idea for their school or community. In particular, they will gain digital, entrepreneurial and soft skills in a playful way.

The aim of the programme is to contribute to increasing inclusiveness and to ensuring equal access to quality non-formal education for all children without distinction. The programme gives young people the opportunity to experience a world of innovation and modern technology to which they would not otherwise have access. It narrows the educational gap between children from different social backgrounds in key skills needed for 21st century and reduces inequality in education.

Since July 2020, the Pontis Foundation has been implementing this project thanks to support from the European Social Fund and the European Regional Development Fund under the Human Resources Operational Programme.
