The Open Future is kicking off the new school year on September 21. Children from Prešov, Trnava, and Zvolen have the chance to gain new knowledge through projects they’ll truly enjoy. Although the actual cost of the program is 200 euros per month, all selected students will receive it completely free of charge. The Pontis Foundation is thus breaking down barriers and making modern extracurricular education accessible to all children, regardless of their economic background.

Required reading, history, math, physics, and chemistry… The curriculum is strict. Elementary school students must meet specific milestones to earn their elementary school diploma.

But what if Nina or Jakub, who sit next to each other in class, have a million ideas? Maybe they know exactly how to improve the playground behind the school, how to make the common areas at school cozier, or how to make interactions with students from neighboring classes more engaging during recess.

Let’s give children some space

Each of us sees the world a little differently—and that is precisely what makes us unique and talented. The Open Future program was created to identify this potential and begin nurturing it at the most appropriate age.

Our two-year program is currently opening new groups for girls and boys in the 6th and 7th grades of elementary schools in Trnava, Zvolen, and Prešov.

Schoolchildren attend the program in the afternoons twice a week. Under the guidance of coordinators, they work on their own projects, which helps them naturally develop soft skills and an entrepreneurial spirit. The safe and supportive environment teaches them to communicate their unique perspectives, collaborate as a team, and present their ideas in public.

The Open Future in Its New Premises

The new school year brings several changes. The program is moving to new locations in Trnava and Zvolen. The brand-new facilities in the city center will make the program more accessible. This means that students from any part of the city and any school can easily participate in the program.

In Trnava, students will find new facilities at the Saigon space at Študentská 29, and in Zvolen at the KONEKT space at Jozefa Kozáčeka 11. In Prešov, the program will continue to be held on the grounds of Važecká Elementary School.

Unique Access to Modern Education

Although the actual cost of this comprehensive educational program amounts to 200 euros per month per student, all selected participants will receive it completely free of charge.

With this initiative, the Pontis Foundation is breaking down financial barriers and making modern extracurricular education accessible to all children, regardless of their family’s economic background.

The program is currently accepting applications for the new school year. We start on September 21.
